Summary
The Facilities Technician II helps lead maintenance operations to keep Nordstrom stores safe and ready for business. This role performs advanced troubleshooting and preventive maintenance across multiple store and Nordstrom Rack locations while supporting the Facility Manager and mentoring other technicians.
Responsibilities
- Lead and perform scheduled preventive maintenance and on-demand repairs on building systems and equipment.
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, HVAC, refrigeration, and building control systems.
- Monitor building systems, conduct equipment rounds, identify malfunctions, and maintain accurate records in the computerized maintenance management system.
- Support parts ordering, vendor coordination, meetings, and administrative tasks.
- Promote workplace safety, follow applicable codes and procedures, and respond to location emergencies.
- Mentor and train technicians and communicate facility updates to store leadership.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED; vocational or college degree preferred.
- Five to seven years of hands-on facilities experience, including mechanical maintenance.
- At least five years of experience with preventive maintenance and repairs involving HVAC, refrigeration, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot low-voltage signals and logical devices, work independently, and manage multiple deadlines.
- Experience with CMMS and ordering systems; intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and off-hours, and to lift 50 pounds or more.
