Facilities Technician 2 - Upper Marlboro Distribution Center

Summary

Responsible for executing preventative maintenance and performing troubleshooting and diagnostic repairs of building and material handling systems at the distribution center. Supports operations by designing maintenance solutions, leading preventative maintenance procedures, and assisting in training service technicians. Creates and closes work orders with accurate labor and parts data while promoting a safe working environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on building systems and material handling equipment including conveyors
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical and electronic control systems using test equipment
• Maintain and troubleshoot relay logic, ladder diagrams and control components such as motor starters, relays and sensors
• Operate equipment safely including forklifts scissor lifts and boom lifts
• Lead preventative maintenance procedures and assist in training service technicians
• Create and close work orders recording labor hours equipment maintenance and parts used
• Support operations by designing maintenance solutions for complex problems and projects
• Maintain positive working relationships across departments

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience with conveyors electrical systems and building maintenance
• Advanced knowledge of operation and repair of material handling equipment
• Proficiency with power tools pneumatic or hydraulic tools
• Basic knowledge of control systems and PLCs preferred
• Robotics knowledge preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to move up to 49lbs and stand and walk during shifts up to 12 hours
