Summary
The Facilities Technician 3 leads preventative maintenance and troubleshooting for building and material handling systems at a distribution center. This role designs maintenance solutions, manages projects, and trains and mentors service technicians while ensuring safe operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead and execute preventative maintenance programs and audits
- Troubleshoot maintain and repair material handling systems and conveyors
- Diagnose electrical and electronic control systems using test equipment
- Maintain and troubleshoot relay logic ladder diagrams and control components
- Operate forklifts scissor and boom lifts and use hand and power tools safely
- Create and close out work orders recording labor hours equipment maintenance and parts used
- Communicate equipment operation and maintenance status to management and teams
- Develop work plans for emergency repair of critical assets
- Mentor and train technicians to achieve performance goals
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience with conveyors electrical systems and building maintenance
- Associate degree or higher in mechanical or electrical field preferred
- Advanced knowledge of operation and repair of material handling equipment
- Advanced knowledge of power pneumatic and hydraulic tools
- Basic knowledge of control systems and PLCs preferred
- Ability to use smartphones tablets computers and web based applications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to safely operate lifts and material handling equipment
- Capable of standing walking and moving up to 49lbs during shifts up to 12 hours
