SummaryAs a Facility Engineer, you will provide technical expertise to support the Operations and Maintenance teams in repairing and maintaining material handling equipment and pneumatic systems throughout the building. You will have the opportunity to install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment, while developing and maintaining partner relationships with internal and external customers.
Responsibilities- Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures.
- Complete preventative maintenance routines with proper documentation.
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems related to all Material Handling Equipment (MHE), including belts, motors, photo-eyes, relays, and plumbing.
- Develop and maintain a positive working relationship across all Operations facilities.
- Track and facilitate department inventory.
- Move objects weighing up to 50lbs with regular bending, lifting, and reaching both below the waist and above the head, along with pushing and pulling wheeled dollies up to 100 pounds.
- Work shifts lasting up to 12 hours, with or without reasonable accommodations.
Requirements- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Two or more years of experience with automated conveyor systems and controls.
- Two or more years of experience conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures.
- Two or more years of experience in the repair of material handling equipment.
- Ability to work in distribution environments that may be noisy and potentially work on rooftop equipment in extreme temperatures.
- One or more years of blueprint and electrical schematic reading.
- One or more years of knowledge with electrical and electronic principles.
- Able to work with others as well as independently, being a self-starter.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize different projects and workload.
- Understanding and knowledge of SDS (Safety Data Sheets) information.
- Background or experience in conveyor and forklift operation and repair.
