Furniture Pack And Ship Associate III

Summary

Apply protective packing materials to completed upholstery pieces, operate motorized equipment, process and print shipping labels, and assist with shipping to meet required specifications. Perform packing tasks including assembling trays and boxes and support loading trucks and other shipping duties as needed. Follow safety guidelines for equipment operation and furniture handling while maintaining attendance and punctuality.

Responsibilities

• Safely apply packaging materials to completed upholstery pieces
• Assemble trays and boxes just in time during the packing process
• Operate overhead lifts, staple guns, shrink wrap and tape guns
• Operate upholstery tugger and forklift to move and ship products and cartons
• Read production tickets to look up orders and print shipping labels
• Assist with shipping processes including loading trucks
• Perform other duties outside the packing and shipping area as required
• Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality

Requirements

• Six months prior experience in a similar packing and shipping role
• Knowledge of upholstery packing and shipping techniques
• Experience in safe operation of forklifts and motorized equipment
• Ability to read production tickets and operate a computer to process shipping
• Adequate communication skills to interact with team members
• Ability to multitask with minimal supervision
• Detail oriented with commitment to punctuality
• Ability to lift and mobilize furniture in excess of 100 pounds using appropriate equipment
