Summary
The General Manager leads store operations to drive sales and profit while delivering an exceptional customer experience. This role focuses on strategic planning, talent development, community engagement and maintaining brand standards across the sales floor and store operations.
Responsibilities
- Own sales and profit performance to meet sales and margin goals
- Plan and execute company initiatives to optimize store impact
- Create a consistent customer experience aligned to brand expectations
- Develop and implement client development and community outreach strategies
- Set and execute talent strategy including recruiting retaining and coaching high performing staff
- Educate and train team to build skills and enhance capabilities
- Maintain productivity through process management including inventory and shrink goals
- Promote use of technology to support new selling and shopping methods
- Ensure sales floor and store standards consistently exceed expectations
Requirements
- College degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Retail management or similar industry experience in a complex high volume or high profile environment
- Proven track record of success building and maintaining positive working relationships
- Ability to operate register stand move and walk for multiple hours and lift up to 30 lbs
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including days evenings weekends and occasional overnight shifts and travel
- Strong business acumen and planning prioritization skills
- Effective communication skills with customers and store personnel
