Summary
The Head of Public Affairs will lead development and execution of the company’s public affairs strategy, providing policy intelligence, advocacy and government relations support to protect and advance corporate priorities. This role reports to the Chief Global Impact and Communications Officer and requires engagement with internal leaders and external stakeholders across international, federal, state and local levels.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute advocacy strategies to advance company policy objectives
- Present policy positions to government officials, trade associations and industry stakeholders
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and assess business impacts
- Draft executive summaries, position papers and advocacy briefs
- Cultivate relationships with government officials and organize meetings and site visits
- Manage stakeholder partnerships with trade associations and advocacy groups
- Anticipate geopolitical and regulatory risks and advise on mitigation strategies
- Develop talking points, statements and messaging for internal and external communications
- Lead the public affairs team, manage consultants and oversee team budget
Requirements
- 15 years of public affairs experience preferred in agency, brand or political settings
- Deep understanding of public policy and ability to distill complex regulatory issues
- Experience in fashion, retail, global supply chains, trade, sustainability or geopolitical issues preferred
- Exceptional writing, presentation and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive favorable outcomes
- Demonstrated success leading teams and managing projects end to end
- Ability to work independently and foster cross functional collaboration
- Experience presenting to senior leadership and corporate boards
