SummaryThe Temporary Interior Designer is responsible for managing and assisting the store design process from design concept to store opening for a 3+ month period. This role involves maintaining the brand image for projects in both local and international markets, working closely with the Store Interiors Management team to define furniture, fabrics, lighting, and materials, and ensuring project finish schedules, specifications, and budgets are met.
Responsibilities- Develop and present initial concept design and mood boards, collaborating with the Project Architect during store layouts.
- Maintain communication with international distributors and cross-functional departments.
- Research relevant interior trends in retail and residential fields.
- Responsible for specifications and production of assigned domestic and international finishes.
- Review furniture, lighting, and custom millwork shop drawings for design compliance.
- Partner with project architect to create presentations for senior management.
- Draw custom furniture, design elevations, patterns, carpets, and floor plans to scale in Autocad.
- Lead and mentor junior team members.
- Initiate market research for additional vendors to source new and existing interior design products.
- Create a positive, innovative, and collaborative culture of designers.
- Provide guidance and direction to ensure engagement and hold individuals accountable for achieving results.
Requirements- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in luxury high-end interiors residential or retail.
- Knowledge of units and measure to communicate site-specific requirements and dimensions.
- Proficient in Autocad with the ability to produce plans and elevations to scale and draw custom furniture.
- 2D and 3D software skills.
- Travel required.
- Preferred skills include Microsoft Office, Photoshop, Illustrator, hand sketching, and Fohlio Specification Program.
