Junior Retail Planner

Summary

Support the Retail Planning and Inventory team by managing day-to-day planning tasks, preparing sales forecasts and open-to-buy reviews, and maintaining reporting to drive inventory optimization and business performance. The role focuses on sales and inventory forecasting, auto-replenishment management, KPI analysis, and cross-functional collaboration to align planning with merchandising, finance, and IT.

Responsibilities

• Support open-to-buy (OTB) and budget planning and prepare OTB reviews with guidance from the Retail Planning Manager
• Forecast short- and long-term sales by product and reference level and monitor execution of buys with post-market recaps
• Manage auto-replenishment SKUs and model stock to drive inventory optimization and sales productivity
• Analyze business performance and KPIs to identify opportunities and risks and recommend corrective actions
• Maintain weekly and monthly reporting and build ad-hoc templates to support department strategies
• Partner with Merchandise, Inventory Planning, IT, and Finance on forecasts, reorder proposals, min/max levels, and data accuracy
• Provide ad-hoc support and execute additional tasks as directed by management

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required
• 2-3 years of merchandise or retail planning experience with direct open-to-buy experience preferred
• Advanced competency in retail math and Microsoft Excel; experience with Power BI and IBM Planning Analytics Workspace a plus
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize and adapt in a fast-paced retail environment
