Loss Prevention Investigator

Summary

The Investigator protects company assets from fraud and internal and external loss by observing floor activity, monitoring CCTV, conducting audits and investigations, and supporting inventory and safety programs. This role requires confidentiality, compliance with privacy and cyber security measures, and timely emergency response. The position operates in a retail environment and liaises with Operations and Sales teams to minimize loss.

Responsibilities

• Routinely walk the sales floor to observe and identify dishonest persons both external and internal
• Monitor and dispatch incidents via CCTV and maintain records of apprehensions
• Apprehend shoplifters and testify at criminal proceedings as required
• Conduct periodic POS audits and analyze transactional reporting
• Conduct confidential internal investigations and follow up on findings
• Support inventory counts, shortage programs, and management of unsaleables
• Respond to emergencies and ensure appropriate follow up reporting
• Provide support for audits to ensure compliance with policies and procedures
• Ensure compliance with privacy policies, regulations, and cyber security measures

Requirements

• College degree
• 2-3 years experience in a similar capacity
• Experience in a retail environment
• Kinesic interview techniques or other interviewing and interrogation training
• Standard first aid and CPR OPA Level II
• Maintain provincial guard license
• Fully bilingual in French and English
• Ability to testify in legal proceedings
