Summary
The Facilities Maintenance Technician I supports multiple store locations by performing preventive maintenance, basic repairs, inspections, and general upkeep of building systems and grounds under close supervision. The role requires basic trade skills in areas such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, and HVAC and provides day to day response to maintenance requests.
Responsibilities
- Perform assigned preventive maintenance and respond to on demand requests from the sales floor
- Complete maintenance records accurately and in a timely manner
- Conduct daily inspections and building rounds
- Assist with troubleshooting and basic repairs of plumbing, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, shop systems, and HVAC
- Maintain lighting systems, fixtures, and replace bulbs and lamps
- Use manuals, circuit diagrams, blueprints, and schematics to assist in troubleshooting
- Perform manual labor such as loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials
- Follow safety procedures including lock out tag out, PPE, ergonomics, and working at heights
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED plus a minimum of one year of related experience or training
- Basic working knowledge in multiple trade skills including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating and cooling
- Entry level proficiency with power tools and willingness to learn
- Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form and follow directions
- Proficiency using a PC or laptop for work order systems, email, and basic Microsoft Office programs
- Ability to maintain a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and off hours
- Capacity to lift and carry heavy loads of 50 lbs or more with or without reasonable accommodation
