Summary
The Facilities Maintenance Technician I assists in maintaining a safe well-maintained store environment by performing preventive maintenance and basic repairs on building systems equipment and grounds under close supervision. This role supports multiple store locations and contributes to monitoring building system operations and performance while following safety procedures.
Responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day preventive maintenance and on-demand requests from the sales floor
- Complete maintenance records accurately and timely
- Conduct daily inspections and building rounds
- Assist troubleshooting and basic repairs of plumbing roofing HVAC and kitchen equipment
- Maintain lighting systems replace bulbs and fixtures as needed
- Use manuals schematics and blueprints to assist with repairs
- Perform manual labor tasks including loading unloading lifting and moving materials
- Follow safety procedures including lockout tagout PPE ergonomics and working at heights
- Escalate emergency situations and summon additional assistance when required
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED with a minimum of one year of related experience or training
- Ability to follow written and verbal directions and procedures
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Flexible schedule availability including days evenings weekends and off-hours support
- Basic proficiency with power tools and willingness to learn
- General understanding of mechanical component systems and processes
- Proficiency using PC or laptop for work order systems email and basic Microsoft Office
- Ability to prioritize tasks react to changing priorities and maintain attention to detail
- Physical ability to stoop stand walk climb and lift carry loads of 50 lbs or more
