Summary

The Facilities Maintenance Technician I helps maintain a safe, well-maintained store environment by performing preventive maintenance and assisting with building system operations. This role supports multiple Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack locations within a business node and works under close supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, building inspections, rounds, and assigned maintenance requests.
• Assist with troubleshooting and basic repairs to plumbing, HVAC, lighting, roofs, drains, kitchen equipment, and other building systems.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and respond promptly to service requests and emergencies.
• Follow safety procedures and applicable codes, regulations, and company directives.
• Move materials and perform physical tasks, including lifting and carrying loads of 50 pounds or more.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED and at least one year of related experience or training.
• Basic knowledge of trade skills and mechanical systems; entry-level proficiency with power tools and willingness to learn.
• Ability to follow written and verbal directions, communicate effectively, and adapt to changing priorities.
• Basic computer skills, including use of work order systems, email, and Microsoft Office.
• Flexible availability for days, evenings, weekends, and off-hours support; ability to stoop, stand, walk, and climb stairs or ladders.
