Maintenance Technician 2 - Charlotte Metro Area

Summary

The Maintenance Technician II helps lead a team to provide a safe, well-maintained store environment across multiple stores in the Charlotte metro area. The role supports the Facility Manager by performing preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting building systems, and coordinating workorders and vendors. This position combines hands-on repairs, building systems monitoring, and administrative tasks to ensure stores are ready for business.

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform preventive and corrective maintenance on critical and non-critical equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, HVAC, refrigeration, and building control system issues, including EMCS alarms.
• Respond to break-fix and on-demand requests and delegate tasks to technicians.
• Conduct equipment rounds, readings, and document findings in the CMMS; maintain parts inventory and order items as needed.
• Coordinate with store leadership, vendors, and landlords; attend meetings and support vendor/project activities.
• Promote and follow all safety procedures including LOTO, PPE, ergonomics, and working at heights.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED; vocational training or an associate degree preferred.
• 5+ years hands-on facilities experience with emphasis on mechanical maintenance and preventive maintenance.
• Experience with HVAC, refrigeration, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, low voltage troubleshooting, and EMCS operation.
• Proficiency with CMMS systems, Microsoft Office, and parts ordering systems.
• Ability to communicate effectively across organizational levels and mentor other technicians.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and off-hours and to lift and move loads of 50 lbs. or more.
