Summary
The Maintenance Technician II leads and mentors a facilities team to maintain a safe, functional store environment across multiple Nordstrom locations. This role supports the Facility Manager by performing preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting building systems, coordinating vendors, and assisting with administrative tasks to ensure stores are ready for business.
Responsibilities
- Lead and perform on demand and scheduled preventive maintenance on critical and noncritical equipment
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues across building systems including HVAC and refrigeration
- Operate and monitor building controls and respond to EMCS alarms
- Perform equipment rounds, readings, and document malfunctions and repairs
- Assist with parts ordering, PO creation, vendor coordination, and meeting attendance
- Mentor and delegate work to other technicians and provide technical training
- Maintain CMMS records and parts inventory and update maintenance procedures
- Respond to location emergencies and promote adherence to safety procedures
- Coordinate with contractors, property managers, and store leadership
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED; vocational or associate degree preferred
- 5-7 years hands-on facilities experience with mechanical maintenance
- 5+ years conducting predictive and preventive maintenance
- 5+ years experience with HVAC, refrigeration, carpentry, plumbing, electrical and mechanical repairs
- Ability to troubleshoot low voltage and logical device IO functions
- Experience with CMMS and ordering systems such as Coupa
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office at an intermediate level
- Ability to work flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends and off-hours
- Capability to lift and carry loads of 50 lbs or more and perform physical labor tasks
