Manager Facilities

Summary

Facilities Manager responsible for overseeing maintenance and operations of a luxury retail boutique in New York, ensuring building systems, spa facilities, and indoor landscaping meet brand standards and regulatory requirements. Role includes managing vendors, preventive maintenance programs, inspections, and supporting event setup and housekeeping coordination. Reports to the Director of Operations and requires on-call and weekend availability.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, elevators, audio video, and lighting systems.
• Oversee housekeeping contract and facility cleanliness standards.
• Manage setup and breakdown for in house events in collaboration with corporate.
• Maintain and repair spa facilities including multiple showers to ensure hygiene and functionality.
• Oversee indoor landscaping and plant care to maintain aesthetic standards.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff and customers.
• Collaborate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and services.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules and maintain accurate records.
• Assist in budget management for maintenance and repair operations.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in building engineering or facilities maintenance, preferably in luxury retail or hospitality.
• High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate or Bachelor degree preferred in engineering or facilities management.
• Proficient in HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general building maintenance.
• Familiarity with building management systems and energy management systems.
• Strong problem solving, troubleshooting, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and be available for on call emergencies and weekend shifts.
• Knowledge of landscaping maintenance and care.
• Certifications preferred such as Universal EPA, OSHA 30, BOC, HVAC Technician, CFM, or FMP.
