Summary
Lead merchandising strategies for RTW and shoes across womens and mens categories in North America, partnering with cross functional teams and headquarters. This temporary maternity leave role is based in the New York corporate office with regular travel and reports to the VP Retail Merchandising. Drive assortment, inventory and sales performance to meet financial goals.
Responsibilities
- Define and implement merchandising strategies for RTW and shoes categories.
- Analyze market trends and competitor offers to identify opportunities.
- Collaborate with design, production, marketing, sales and visual merchandising to align product presentation.
- Manage category performance through sales analysis and inventory monitoring.
- Prepare sales reports by activity, line, colour and boutique and propose purchasing plans.
- Complete order processes by SKU and ensure orders follow buying schedule.
- Lead and coach direct reports including Merchandising Manager and Associate Buyer.
- Liaise with Sales Planner and Finance on forecasts and open to buy.
- Travel to stores and headquarters for market activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, fashion merchandising or related field; master's preferred.
- At least 8 years of retail merchandising or buying experience in luxury fashion with RTW and shoes focus.
- 7-10 years of fashion or luxury buying experience and minimum 3 years managing direct reports.
- Minimum 4 years of North American market retail buying experience.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in retail math and inventory management.
- Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
- Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to travel frequently including international travel.
