Summary
Entry-level merchandising role based in the New York corporate office supporting Ready to Wear buying and merchandising activities. The trainee will analyze sales and stock by store, assist Buyers with market preparation and assortment, and develop retail analytics and problem-solving skills in a luxury fashion environment. Position requires availability for a 40-hour workweek, Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and run weekly sales reports and prepare sell-through reports
- Compile seasonal qualitative collection feedback for the merchandising team
- Support ad-hoc merchandising analysis and reporting as needed
- Manage merchandising communications for stores including newsletters and selling tools
- Prepare competitive landscape recaps covering pricing trends and market activities
- Assist during seasonal buying markets with premarket analysis and buy sheet maintenance
- Support inventory transfers and consolidation across the region
- Coordinate merchandise movement between stores for specialty caravans
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management with merchandising internship or Fashion Merchandising degree
- 1-3 years of merchandising or sales internship experience required
- Experience in luxury or fashion business is a plus
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel and reporting software
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to manage tight deadlines, multi-task, and work independently
- Proficient in retail math
- Fluent in English; additional languages advantageous
