Responsibilities- Assist with patient care and eye exams, managing patient records and supporting patient flow.
- Perform various tests to aid the optometrist, including visual acuity measurements and retinal imaging.
- Review prescriptions and patient information carefully, consulting with Optometrists or Practice Manager when necessary.
- Handle and file patient records in accordance with practice standards and HIPAA.
- Support contact lens exams and orders, including trial inventory and patient orders.
- Operate the point-of-sale system and input patient information accurately.
- Maintain a safe working environment for team members and patients.
- Adapt to various examination scenarios and maintain a personable demeanor with patients and staff.
- Perform pre-examination testing with accuracy and explain measurements to patients.
- Maintain and disinfect equipment, providing clinical support to the Optometrist as needed.
- Work weekends and evenings as required by business needs.
Requirements- High School graduate or equivalent.
- 2+ years of experience in optometry, ophthalmology, or healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of optical and medical terminology.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic math skills and knowledge of office environment.
