Principal Engineer Operations Engineering

As a Principal Engineer in Operations Engineering, you will play a pivotal role in Nordstrom's technology transformation, shaping the next generation of retail, corporate, and e-commerce infrastructure. You will be part of the InfraTech core leadership team, providing technical leadership and influencing strategic decisions across the business.

• Lead and influence across multiple organizations to solve business and technical problems.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to build vision, develop strategy, and contribute to team roadmaps.
• Coach and mentor teams in applying engineering principles to achieve design goals.
• Identify and address areas of improvement in design, implementation, and process.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for high-impact production incidents.

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of experience in enterprise platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, or related fields.
• Deep technical knowledge across multiple technology domains.
• Strong background with traffic management, hybrid/multi-cloud connectivity, and network security.
• Experience with NOC/SOC and SRE functions focused on observability and resiliency.
• Proficiency with GitOps framework and Infrastructure as Code tools.
• Proven track record designing and delivering large-scale solutions.
• Strong communication skills and exceptional problem-solving abilities.
