Summary
The Process & Insights Engineer partners with Store Operations and cross-functional teams to diagnose operational root causes, translate data into actionable recommendations, and support the transformation of store fulfillment. This role combines scalable data analysis, on-site observation, and hands-on problem solving to enable both near-term performance and long-term change. The engineer helps ensure program decisions and daily execution are grounded in operational truth and measurable outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Use scalable data tools and automation to analyze performance, support pilots, and track program objectives.
- Translate findings into clear decision points, tradeoffs, and recommended actions for program and ops leaders.
- Collaborate with Product, Technology, Supply Chain, Transportation, Inventory, and Store Operations to align insights with operational realities.
- Spend regular time on-site in stores to validate data, conduct Gemba walks, and map processes.
- Apply structured problem-solving methods (A3, process mapping, 5 Whys) to identify root causes and design mitigations.
- Support change management by developing standard work, job aids, and process documentation for pilots and rollouts.
Requirements
- 5-10 years of Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering experience, with preferred experience in omnichannel or store operations.
- Bachelor’s in Industrial and System Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience diagnosing end-to-end operational problems, sizing opportunities, and recommending actions to improve performance.
- Working understanding of order management, store inventory movement, routing, and fulfillment workflows.
- Proficiency in Excel and experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker) and familiarity with Python and SQL for automation.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to synthesize insights for technical and executive audiences.
