Summary
The Procurement Planner is responsible for ensuring raw materials, components and sub-assemblies are delivered to Cambridge production sites to support production needs, deploying inventory strategies, managing product change implications, resolving supply exceptions, and driving supplier execution to achieve production and inventory objectives.
Responsibilities
- Define manufacturing component needs based on production plans, lead times and stock policies
- Create and deploy supply requirements via MRP to meet production and cost objectives
- Monitor open purchase orders and work to ensure on-time delivery
- Expedite or defer orders to maintain production flow and optimize inventory
- Manage inter-company material flows between warehouse locations
- Resolve PO issues, invoice discrepancies, returns and supplier quality problems
- Set and maintain material master planning parameters such as MOQ and safety stock
- Coordinate material flows for product changes, obsolescence and new product introductions
- Lead supplier engagement for ramp ups, compliance and continuous improvement
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, finance, engineering or similar discipline
- Minimum 5 years experience in a supply chain role with a direct manufacturer
- Applied expert knowledge of forecasting, MRP/ERP, inventory management and procure to pay processes
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills with ability to analyze data and make recommendations
- Experience with engineering change management, bills of material and product lifecycle management
- Ability to build supplier partnerships and manage supplier performance
- Fluent English; French and/or German an asset
- Certifications such as CPIM APICS CPSM CPPB or SCMP considered an asset
