Senior Designer, Leather Goods

Summary

The Senior Designer, Leather Goods leads the design and development of handbags and small leather goods from concept through production. The role collaborates with design, product development, and factory partners to deliver creative, commercially relevant products across multiple seasonal collections.

Responsibilities

• Develop seasonal concepts, silhouettes, hardware ideas, inspiration boards, sketches, CADs, technical drawings, and tech packs.
• Review prototypes and samples, and work with product development and factories to resolve construction, engineering, and cost challenges.
• Support team organization, supervise and mentor up to two designers, and monitor seasonal calendars and deliverables.
• Manage seasonal line architecture, product documentation, design archives, and development across four collections.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Accessories Design, Industrial Design, or a related field.
• 7-10 years of handbag or leather goods design experience within a luxury or contemporary fashion brand.
• Experience leading seasonal handbag collections from concept through production and mentoring junior designers.
• Strong knowledge of handbag construction, materials, hardware, leather, and manufacturing processes.
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Microsoft Excel, with strong organizational, communication, and project management skills.
