Summary
Lead merchandise financial planning for the division with responsibility for buy planning, re-projections and execution of upfront and in-season plans while supporting emerging businesses and driving process improvements. This hybrid role is based at the downtown headquarters and includes training and change leadership to ensure adoption of financial strategies across merchandising teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop and translate customer strategy into financial and buy plans
- Manage the buy planning calendar and oversee creation review and re-projection of plans
- Balance objective data and subjective inputs to guide sales inventory and profitability improvements
- Ensure financial planners create executable plans for FLS Direct and location levels
- Oversee planning and execution of support for emerging businesses such as Direct
- Maintain liquidity within upfront and in-season plans and ensure strategy execution
- Direct performance scenario and ad hoc analysis to identify risks and opportunities
- Develop and implement business process improvements and budget disciplines
- Lead training of new financial planners and participate in special projects
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 5 years retail planning inventory management or related experience
- Minimum 2 years retail buying experience
- At least 1 year retail customer facing experience
- Expertise in merchandise category and understanding of the retail service environment
- Proficiency in MS Windows and Office suite
- Clear effective written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities
