Summary
The Senior Manager, Salesforce Marketing Cloud Technical Architect will oversee the Salesforce Marketing Cloud platform and lead technical architecture, integrations, and data design to enable scalable, secure campaign execution and personalization. This role partners with marketing, analytics, and technical teams to reduce incidents, improve data hygiene, and deliver real-time data flows and insights. The position is based in New York City with a hybrid on-site schedule.
Responsibilities
- Design robust Marketing Cloud architecture, data models, automation frameworks, and personalization workflows.
- Define platform configurations, custom development patterns, and integration standards for CRM, web, POS, and analytics systems.
- Lead development of APIs, ETL processes, and middleware to enable reliable, real-time data exchange and maintain data integrity.
- Build and optimize automations using Automation Studio, Journey Builder, and scripting to support personalized campaigns.
- Establish and enforce coding, documentation, and platform best practices to reduce repeat incidents and support ticket volume.
- Mentor and train developers, administrators, and marketers and act as the technical liaison between business stakeholders and engineering teams.
- Support analytics by developing SQL in BigQuery and maintaining Looker dashboards and visualizations.
Requirements
- Minimum 7 years of technical architecture experience with at least 5 years focused on Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
- In-depth knowledge of data modeling, segmentation, transformation, audience management, and ETL processes.
- Experience with API integrations, data connectors, middleware, and platform configuration.
- Proficiency with SQL (BigQuery) and building dashboards in Looker or similar BI tools.
- Working knowledge of Automation Studio, Journey Builder, SFMC scripting; Marketing Cloud Administrator certification preferred.
- Familiarity with data privacy regulations (CCPA, GDPR) and best practices for secure customer data management.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management skills, and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
