Job Description

Summary

Senior Technical Designer supporting women's apparel responsible for leading technical design and fit processes, managing a team of Technical Designers, and collaborating cross functionally to ensure products meet brand standards. This hybrid role is based at the downtown Seattle headquarters and involves global travel as needed. The role focuses on fit, construction, pattern development, and delivering measurement worksheets to factories.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead a team of Technical Designers and provide direction on fit and construction
  • Collaborate with cross functional and external partners to align outcomes with design intent and brand requirements
  • Create and maintain consistent fit and construction standards and construction images
  • Interpret design intent and communicate through sketches and visual construction
  • Lead fit approvals through to production and ensure fit consistency across assortments
  • Lead block pattern development and collaborate with Pattern Engineer and Product Developer
  • Coordinate fit sessions and analyze wear tests
  • Manage calendar milestones and lead special projects as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Apparel Design Pattern Making or related field
  • Minimum 7 years experience in production fitting and pattern making
  • Experience leading and influencing a project or team
  • Expert knowledge of grade rules and tolerances and demonstrated fit testing capabilities
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator MS Office and Product Lifecycle Management systems
  • Strong organization time management and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Willingness and ability to travel globally
