As a Software Engineer 2 at Nordstrom in Seattle, you will be a vital member of the technology team, responsible for designing, building, and maintaining backend systems and APIs that enhance product data. This hybrid role requires collaboration with product, platform, and engineering teams to improve data flow and ensure high-quality customer experiences.

• Design, build, and maintain backend systems and APIs for product data management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and enhance product data flow.
• Manage features end-to-end, including architecture, development, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
• Participate in system design and code reviews to maintain high engineering standards.
• Investigate and resolve production issues efficiently.
• Drive continuous improvement in system performance, reliability, and developer experience.

• 3–5 years of experience in building and maintaining production-grade software systems.
• Proficiency in Java, Kotlin, or another modern backend language.
• Experience with REST APIs, event-driven systems, and cloud-native architectures.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP), CI/CD pipelines, and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Comfortable working in high-throughput, data-centric environments.
• Bonus: Experience in retail, commerce, or product/catalog data platforms.
