Sr. Operations Associate - Logistics

Summary

Senior Operations Associate - Color Stones & Pearls Logistics manages incoming and outgoing merchandise for gemstones and pearls, ensuring timely, accurate preparation of shipments and receipts. The role supports physical and systematic receiving, inventory control, and coordination with internal and external partners, and works with systems such as J.D. Edwards and Sarine. This position also handles shipping documentation, record maintenance, and supports grading and testing workflows.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and verify inbound shipments and break down packaging for processing.
• Prepare and coordinate outbound shipments, ensuring compliance with courier, customs, and company procedures.
• Maintain shipment records, internal logs, and required documentation (e.g., Kimberley, warranty, VAT statements).
• Monitor in-transit reports, investigate delivery discrepancies, and conduct monthly carrier audits.
• Perform systematic receipt and ownership transfers in J.D. Edwards and manage Sarine data uploads for grading.
• Prepare stones for Merchandise Testing Laboratory and manage associated test documentation.
• Manage shipping supplies, support continuous improvement, update SOPs, and lead training for team members.

Requirements

• 2-5 years of experience in operations, logistics, inventory management, or supply chain.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with J.D. Edwards preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication and customer service orientation.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, translate goals into action, and work overtime as needed.
• Experience handling sensitive/proprietary information; knowledge of the gemstone industry and stone handling preferred.
