Job Description

Summary

Join Nordstrom’s Platform and Data organization as a Senior Technical Program Manager on the Insights Delivery team. In this pivotal role, you will lead the implementation of a scalable and sustainable data governance operating model across the enterprise. You will partner with cross-functional teams to ensure that data governance practices are embedded into our data platforms, analytics solutions, and business processes to drive trusted, high-quality data for decision-making.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of the enterprise data governance operating model, including data ownership, stewardship, and quality management frameworks.
  • Define and manage program roadmaps, timelines, and deliverables to ensure successful execution of governance initiatives.
  • Collaborate with data platform, analytics, and business teams to integrate governance practices into data lifecycle processes.
  • Establish and maintain data governance policies, standards, and procedures in alignment with business requirements and data strategy.
  • Ensure that all data governance roles defined by the enterprise operating model are effectively supported.
  • Drive adoption of data cataloging, metadata management, and data quality tools and practices.
  • Craft compelling narratives that connect governance initiatives to business outcomes, tailored for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Partner with business and technology leaders to align governance objectives with enterprise data strategy.
  • Facilitate stakeholder workshops and working groups to gather requirements, resolve issues, and build consensus.
  • Develop communication and training plans to support change management and ensure stakeholder readiness.
  • Provide thought leadership and mentorship to team members and stakeholders on data governance best practices.
  • Advocate for a data-driven culture and foster accountability for data quality and stewardship across the organization.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • 7+ years of experience in technical program management, with a focus on data governance, data management, or enterprise data strategy.
  • Proven track record of delivering complex, cross-functional programs in a matrixed organization.
  • Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, metadata management, data quality, and data privacy.
  • Understanding of modern data platforms (e.g., Google Cloud Platform, Databricks, Azure) is a plus.
  • PMP, Agile, or Scrum certification is a plus.
