SummaryAs a Store Design Project Manager at Marc Jacobs in SoHo, you will lead the development of freestanding stores, wholesale, and pop-ups across the United States and Canada. You will collaborate with the global store design team and various departments to ensure the successful renovation and development of new stores from initiation to opening.
Responsibilities- Work closely with the Global Store Design team in the design development of new store locations.
- Develop and maintain relationships with tenant coordinators and mall managers.
- Coordinate transition of design documents for bid, landlord review, and permit with the architect of record.
- Review architectural documents and drawings with the Vice President of Store Planning & Facilities.
- Coordinate requirements for security, telephone, and data with relevant departments.
- Obtain approvals from landlords for preliminary and working drawing reviews.
- Create requests for bids for GC scope and assist in the RFP process.
- Develop requests for owner vendor items and assist in the RFP process.
- Review bid proposals and coordinate cost and schedules with vendors and contractors.
- Develop and maintain cost summaries for each project, including invoice review and approval.
- Conduct site visits to ensure standards and design are met.
- Attend weekly site meetings to ensure schedule and design standards are met.
- Coordinate with GC and local departments for required certificates and inspections.
- Coordinate with global store design, visual merchandising, retail, and operations for store openings.
- Develop punch lists and verify timely corrections.
- Request and obtain letters of lien waivers and comply with landlord’s close-out procedures.
- Develop and issue Maintenance Manuals for store managers.
- Assist in multi-project budgeting and scheduling for departmental forecasting.
- Develop pop-ups from concept to build-out.
Requirements- 5+ years of experience in luxury retail.
- University degree in Architecture or Interior Design preferred.
- Proper work authorization to work in the United States.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, and AutoCAD.
- Strong budgeting and general math skills.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Good understanding of design drawings and project documentation.
- Attention to detail.
- Knowledge of standard quality means and materials in construction and millwork.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and focusing abilities.
- Frequent travel required.
