Upholstery Line Inspector

Summary

The Upholstery Line Inspector inspects pieces being upholstered and trimmed on production lines to ensure they meet quality and product specifications. The role moves along the upholstery and trim lines, identifies defects or deviations from style requirements, and coordinates corrections with upholsterers and leaders. This is an on-site manufacturing position that requires attention to detail and the ability to use hand tools safely.

Responsibilities

• Move along upholstery and trim lines to inspect pieces during production for quality and style requirements
• Identify issues and communicate them to Inside or Outside Upholsterers for immediate correction
• Report consistent or recurring issues to the appropriate Leader for root cause identification and resolution
• Use hand tools such as staple guns, mallets, hammers, and staple pullers to assist with minor corrections
• Perform other duties as required, including tasks outside the regular work area

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years prior experience in a similar upholstery inspection or production role with knowledge of upholstery products
• Ability to read production tickets and follow specifications
• Adequate communication skills to interact with team members and leaders
• Ability to multitask with minimal supervision and maintain consistent attendance and punctuality
• Physically able to stand, twist, stoop, kneel, squat, bend, climb, and lift/mobilize furniture and accessories in excess of 100 pounds while using appropriate equipment and following safety guidelines
