Job Description

Job Purpose:

Based in our New York City office, the Business Planning Manager is responsible for driving top line sales performance by providing clear financial goals & by providing business planning & forecasting support to various Departments including Retail, E-Commerce & Finance. Responsibilities also include strategic efforts to drive the brand.

Tasks & Responsibilities

Drive top line sales performance

Provide clear financial goals

  • Sales Budgets & Commercial Targets (3x Year)
  • Retail Merchandise Plans aligned w/ OTB & key strategic categories
  • Weekly Projections
  • Markdown Targets (2x Year)

Provide Business Planning & Forecasting support to Regions (Retail), E-Commerce, Sales Teams & Finance

  • Weekly Projections arbitrated between Merchants, Regional feedback & financial plans
  • Communicate with internal business partners (including Business Development, Merchants, Supply Chain, Finance) major changes in business strategy
  • Monthly Forecasting: analyze historical data & current trends to identify risks & opportunities; compare sales data by boutique & category versus financial targets & commercial ambition
  • Seasonal Analytic: On a weekly & season-to-date (STD) basis, recap & report on the sales & Sell Thru results versus Target & Ly
  • Open To Buy (OTB) Arbitration: ensure that financial targets are met including arbitration of open-to-buy sales by category.

Strategic efforts to drive the brand

Create detailed Long-Range Plan to guide America’s growth decisions

Set & maintain Commercial Targets for Uber Luxury segment

Provide sales projections to support growth of new Dior Universes (Maison, Baby):

  • Pop Up / Pop In & Concept stores

Provide support to regions:

  • Weekly Projections strategy
  • Seasonal Analytics
  • Regional Analytics
  • Monthly Forecast Review (MFR) (Retail, E-Commerce)

Profile

Skills & Competencies

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Advanced proficiency in planning tools
  • Strong communication, leadership, collaboration, organization & follow-up skills
  • Strong aptitude with numbers & clear understanding of retail math
  • Strong attention to details, quickly able to identify & correct discrepancies in Excel / data
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks effective in a fast-paced environment
  • Minimum 5-7 years professional experience; luxury and/or retail industry preferred
