Alterations Associate - Century City

Summary

Provide professional alterations and tailoring services for customers in a busy department store environment. Work directly with clients to assess fit, recommend alterations, and complete high-quality repairs and customizations. Ensure timely turnaround and maintain standards of workmanship and presentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform garment alterations, repairs, and custom fittings using industrial sewing machines and hand-sewing techniques.
• Measure customers accurately and recommend appropriate alteration solutions.
• Maintain workshop equipment, tools, and an organized workspace.
• Document alterations, track orders, and communicate timelines to customers and sales team members.
• Collaborate with sales associates to coordinate fittings and pickups and ensure excellent customer service.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in alterations, tailoring, or a related sewing role.
• Proficiency with industrial sewing machines, pressing equipment, and hand-stitching techniques.
• Strong customer service and communication skills with a focus on fit and finish.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple alteration orders and deadlines.
• Availability to work a retail schedule, including weekends and peak seasons.
