Summary
The Asset Protection Agent is responsible for protecting customers, employees, store assets, and merchandise by preventing and investigating theft, supporting emergency response, and partnering with store teams to reduce shrinkage and maintain safety.
Responsibilities
- Resolve theft incidents and conduct apprehensions following policy and leadership guidance
- Identify theft trends using reporting, surveillance, and RFID data
- Investigate internal theft and support investigations with evidence collection and video review
- Respond to and report store security and emergency incidents including medical emergencies
- Prepare and submit detailed reports for incidents, investigations, and recoveries
- Serve on the store Emergency Response Team and participate in emergency training including First Aid
- Lead security audits and shrinkage awareness efforts and training within the store
- Build partnerships with store leaders, neighboring retailers, and local law enforcement
- Testify in court when summoned for criminal or civil cases
Requirements
- Ability to make and be accountable for decisions using good judgment in a fast paced environment
- Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and remain calm when dealing with aggressive behavior
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule based on business needs
- Meet any state and local licensing requirements
- Experience in investigative, asset protection or security procedures preferred
- Accountability, initiative, and high level of ownership
