Asset Protection Visual Security Officer - Short Hills

Summary

Responsible for protecting assets and enhancing visual security at the Short Hills location through observation, prevention, and reporting. Works full time to maintain a safe retail environment and support loss prevention initiatives. Collaborates with store leadership and local law enforcement as needed.

Responsibilities

• Monitor sales floor and premises for suspicious activity and safety hazards
• Conduct regular patrols and visual inspections of store areas
• Detain or report suspected shoplifting or theft incidents following policy
• Maintain detailed incident and observation reports
• Support investigations and provide evidence such as video or witness statements
• Coordinate with store management and security teams on loss prevention strategies
• Assist in training staff on safety and theft prevention practices

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in security or loss prevention
• Strong observational and communication skills
• Ability to remain calm and make decisions in high pressure situations
• Familiarity with basic reporting and documentation procedures
• Capacity to stand and patrol for extended periods
• Willingness to coordinate with law enforcement when necessary
