Assistant Manager

Summary

The Assistant Manager ensures a consistently memorable customer shopping experience while driving sales, margin, and store profitability. This role leads the sales floor, coaches and develops associates, and partners with the General Manager to execute operational, merchandising, and promotional strategies. The Assistant Manager upholds store standards for presentation, service, and asset protection.

Responsibilities

• Drive sales and profit performance, meet sales and margin goals, and monitor store financial performance.
• Coach, mentor, supervise, and establish individual sales goals for sales staff to maximize performance.
• Execute visual presentation initiatives and provide merchandising feedback to buying and allocation teams.
• Implement loss prevention and asset protection procedures to support shrink reduction.
• Support recruitment, staffing, development, and execution of promotional strategies at point of sale.

Requirements

• Relevant retail or supervisory experience preferred with strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, analytical, and business acumen.
• Computer skills preferred: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Ability to stand, walk, operate a register, lift up to 30 lbs, climb a ladder as trained, and maneuver around the sales floor and stock areas.
