Summary
The Associate Manager supports the General Manager in strategic planning and execution to ensure a profitable store while maintaining brand standards. This role is responsible for operational excellence, talent development, customer experience, and stepping in as a key decision maker in the GM's absence.
Responsibilities
- Support General Manager in analyzing business trends and planning store initiatives
- Educate and coach team on sales and profit performance tools
- Create and maintain a consistent customer experience aligned to brand expectations
- Assist in client development strategy and lead community outreach efforts
- Execute talent strategy and drive recruitment and networking activities
- Provide ongoing employee coaching, feedback and development opportunities
- Manage store processes including inventory control to achieve shrink goals
- Promote use of technology to support new selling techniques and shopping options
- Ensure sales floor and store standards consistently exceed expectations
Requirements
- College degree or equivalent a plus
- Retail management or similar experience in high-volume or high-profile specialty environment preferred
- Strong communication skills with customers and staff
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 30 lbs and standing for long periods
- Ability to operate register and work throughout sales floor and stock areas
- Flexible availability including days evenings weekends and occasional travel
- Proven track record building positive relationships with customers and coworkers
- Business acumen with strong planning and time management skills
