Summary
The Associate Manager supports the General Manager in strategic planning and execution to drive a profitable store while maintaining brand standards. This role acts as a key decision maker in the GM's absence and focuses on operational excellence, talent development, and delivering a consistent customer experience aligned to brand expectations.
Responsibilities
- Support General Manager in analyzing business trends and developing store initiatives
- Educate and coach the team on sales and profit performance tools
- Create and maintain a consistent customer experience aligned to brand standards
- Assist in store client development strategy and lead community outreach
- Execute talent strategy and participate in recruitment and networking
- Provide ongoing coaching feedback and development opportunities to employees
- Manage store processes including inventory control to meet shrink goals
- Promote use of technology and new selling methods to drive results
- Ensure sales floor and store standards consistently exceed expectations
Requirements
- College degree or equivalent a plus
- Retail management or similar experience in a high volume specialty environment preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and staff
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and perform physical tasks on the sales floor
- Ability to operate register and stand for extended periods
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule including days evenings weekends and possible travel
- Proven track record building positive working relationships with customers and team
- Strong business acumen and planning and prioritization skills
