Summary
The General Manager is responsible for leading store operations to achieve sales and profit goals while delivering an exceptional customer experience and maintaining brand standards. This role focuses on talent development, strategic planning, community engagement, and operational excellence in a high-volume retail environment.
Responsibilities
- Drive sales and profit performance to meet sales and margin goals
- Plan and execute company initiatives to optimize store impact
- Create and maintain a consistent customer experience aligned to brand expectations
- Develop and implement client development and community outreach strategies
- Set talent strategy including sourcing recruiting and retaining high performing team members
- Provide continuous coaching training and feedback to build team capabilities
- Manage inventory productivity and store shrink goals through process management
- Champion new selling technologies and More Ways to Shop techniques
- Ensure sales floor and store standards consistently exceed expectations
Requirements
- College degree or equivalent a plus
- Retail management or similar industry experience in a complex high volume specialty environment preferred
- Proven track record of building and maintaining positive relationships with customers and staff
- Strong business acumen planning and prioritization skills
- Ability to operate register stand walk and maneuver on the sales floor for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and perform physical tasks as required
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule including days evenings weekends and potential travel
