Summary
The Department Manager Operations supports day to day operations and efficiencies at the Saks NYC store, implementing brand guidelines and improving retail processes to protect product assets, optimize stockflow and enhance customer service. This role leads projects end to end, provides training and solutions for operational improvement, and reports to the Store Director.
Responsibilities
- Identify operational improvements to protect product assets against theft and damage and provide reporting to Store Director and Retail Excellence Operations Manager
- Drive standard methodology and optimum processes across the store
- Conduct training for new hires and follow-up trainings on the store operating system Cegid
- Implement policies and procedures to support stock loss targets and act as first point of contact for stock management and replenishment
- Lead operational projects and support store and HQ during launches
- Deliver stock optimization analysis, reporting and forward planning
- Own vendor and supplier relationships to reduce costs and improve services
- Lead Health and Safety compliance and manage store facilities
- Work with Inventory Control to maintain cycle counts, negatives on hand reporting and yearly inventory
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years retail experience and minimum of 3 years managerial experience
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Lotus Notes
- Knowledge of USA retail laws, security and Health and Safety legislation
- Proven ability to lead and develop teams and deliver under pressure
- Strong commercial competence and sales floor focus
- Excellent communication skills with internal and external stakeholders
- Experience with forecasting, stock planning and P&L analysis
