Job Description

Summary

The Designated Selling Associate is a customer-focused salesperson who builds relationships, drives sales for assigned brands, and provides expert product and style guidance. This role involves in-store and digital selling, appointment-based engagements, merchandising tasks, and collaboration with teams to meet sales goals. The schedule varies by week based on business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain lasting relationships with customers and grow Nordstrom Rewards accounts
  • Provide styling advice on fit value and wardrobe completion to customers
  • Conduct product knowledge meetings and educate peers on brand trends
  • Support merchandising tasks including stocking re-merchandising displays price markdowns and transfers
  • Drive appointment-based selling during events and non-event timeframes
  • Provide product feedback to the department manager to improve assortments
  • Be flexible to perform duties in other departments as needed
  • Maintain physical readiness for continuous movement and handling merchandise

Requirements

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to cultivate customer relationships
  • Ability to excel in a competitive team environment and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Flexible availability to work a variable schedule based on business needs
  • Capability to read sales reporting and act on goals
  • Willingness to seek product knowledge through trainings and meetings
  • Confidence selling across a range of price points and demonstrating item value
  • Organizational skills to strategically follow up with customers
  • Physical ability for frequent bending reaching lifting and handling items up to 25 pounds
