Summary
The Designated Selling Associate provides one-on-one customer service and drives sales for assigned brands through product knowledge, merchandising, and appointment based selling. This role cultivates customer relationships, uses digital selling tools, and supports department readiness through stocking and merchandising. The schedule varies by business needs and requires physical activity and lifting.
Responsibilities
- Set and achieve sales goals for in-store and digital selling using selling tools and reservations
- Build and maintain lasting relationships with customers and grow Nordstrom Rewards accounts
- Deliver personalized style and fit advice and educate customers on brand products
- Conduct and participate in product knowledge meetings and trainings
- Support department operations including stocking, re-merchandising, displays, price markdowns and transfers
- Drive appointment based selling during events and non-event periods
- Provide product feedback to the department manager to improve assortment
- Collaborate with DSAs, Stylists, and surrounding departments to support sales
- Be flexible to perform duties in other departments as business needs require
Requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to cultivate customer relationships
- Ability to work in a competitive team environment and prioritize multiple tasks
- Flexible schedule availability based on business needs
- Comfort with reading sales reporting and meeting goals
- Knowledge of fashion, product trends and ability to educate customers
- Confidence selling across varied price points and demonstrating product value
- Organizational skills to follow up strategically on customer wardrobe needs
- Ability to continuously move for 6-8 hours and perform frequent bending and reaching
- Ability to lift items regularly up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds
