Summary
The Designated Selling Associate provides one-on-one customer service and drives sales by cultivating relationships, demonstrating product knowledge, and supporting merchandising and appointment-based selling. This role requires flexibility to support various departments and to use digital selling tools and reservations to meet sales goals.
Responsibilities
- Set and achieve sales goals for in-store and digital selling using tools such as text and social media
- Build and maintain lasting relationships with customers and grow Nordstrom Rewards accounts
- Provide personalized styling advice and product education to customers
- Conduct and participate in product knowledge meetings and trainings
- Support department readiness through stocking, remerchandising, displays, markdowns and transfers
- Drive appointment-based selling during event and non-event timeframes
- Provide product feedback to the district manager to improve assortment
- Collaborate with DSAs, stylists and surrounding departments to support sales
Requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to establish customer rapport
- Ability to excel in a competitive team environment and prioritize multiple tasks
- Flexible schedule to meet business needs
- Ability to read sales reporting in relation to goals
- Product knowledge and the ability to educate customers on brand trends and fit
- Confidence selling across a range of price points and articulating value
- Organizational skills to follow up with customers and manage wardrobe recommendations
- Physical ability to stand and move for 6-8 hours and lift up to 25 pounds
