Facility Engineer

As a Facility Engineer at Neiman Marcus in Garden City, you will provide technical expertise to support the store during operational hours, ensuring the maintenance and repair of various systems. Your role will involve troubleshooting critical building equipment and conducting preventative maintenance to ensure smooth store operations.

• Perform weekly preventive maintenance on all building equipment and conduct safety inspections.
• Oversee inspections on facility equipment such as vertical transportation, boilers, generators, and HVAC systems.
• Order maintenance supplies and assist the Regional Manager in managing maintenance expenses.
• Support capital planning projects and maintain building energy management systems.
• Oversee store systems including Point of Sale and Telephone systems.
• Respond to after-hours and emergency calls, with potential overtime required.
• Support the store during its busiest season from Black Friday to mid-January.

• Degree from a vocational school or college in Mechanical or Electrical field.
• 2-5 years of experience or equivalent apprenticeship in Mechanical or Electrical field.
• Background in building maintenance, electrical, and HVAC.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize work assignments independently.
• Effective communication skills with peers, management, contractors, and vendors.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as bending and climbing ladders.
• Knowledge of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) information.
