Summary
Provide technical expertise and perform preventative and corrective maintenance for building systems in a retail store including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, generators, lighting, and dock doors while supporting store operations and partner relationships. Respond to routine and emergency requests, assist with capital projects, manage maintenance supplies, and maintain energy management and store systems.
Responsibilities
- Perform weekly preventive maintenance and safety inspections for building equipment and envelope with logging of findings
- Inspect and oversee maintenance of vertical transportation, boilers, generators, and HVAC systems
- Order maintenance supplies and assist Regional Manager in managing maintenance expense accounts
- Assist Regional Manager with execution of capital planning projects
- Maintain and coordinate building energy management systems including lighting via Trane Ensemble Software
- Provide support for store systems such as point of sale and telephone systems
- Support kitchen team by maintaining kitchen equipment when needed
- Respond to after-hours and emergency calls and work overtime as required
- Work limited time off during peak season between Black Friday and mid-January
Requirements
- Degree from a vocational school or college focused in mechanical or electrical field
- Two to five years experience or four years apprenticeship or equivalent in mechanical or electrical field
- Background in building maintenance, electrical, and HVAC
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform regular bending, lifting, reaching, and ladder climbing
- Demonstrated ability to multitask, self-prioritize, and work independently and with others
- Effective written and verbal communication with peers, management, contractors, and vendors
- Understanding and knowledge of Safety Data Sheets information
- Highly self-motivated and customer-centric
