Summary
Provide technical expertise to support store operations by maintaining and repairing building systems and equipment including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, generators, lighting, and dock doors. Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot critical building equipment, coordinate with internal and external partners, and respond to after-hours emergencies as needed.
Responsibilities
- Perform weekly preventive maintenance and safety inspections with daily weekly and monthly logging
- Inspect and oversee equipment such as vertical transportation, boilers, generators, and HVAC
- Order maintenance supplies and assist Regional Manager with maintenance expense accounts
- Assist Regional Manager with capital planning project execution
- Maintain and coordinate building energy management systems including lighting via Trane Ensemble Software
- Support store systems including Point of Sale and telephone systems
- Maintain kitchen equipment when needed
- Respond to after hours and emergency calls and work overtime as required
- Work limited time off during peak season from Black Friday through mid January
Requirements
- Degree from vocational school or college in Mechanical or Electrical field
- Two to five years experience or four years apprenticeship or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical field
- Background in building maintenance electrical and HVAC
- Ability to multitask self prioritize and work independently or with others
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform regular bending lifting reaching and ladder climbing
- Effective written and verbal communication with peers management contractors and vendors
- Understanding of Safety Data Sheets information
- Must be highly self motivated and customer centric
