The General Manager leads store operations to drive sales, profit and brand standards while developing leadership talent and delivering an exceptional customer experience. Responsibilities
- Direct responsibility for sales and profit performance to meet sales and margin goals
- Plan and execute company initiatives to optimize store impact
- Create and maintain a consistent customer experience aligned to brand expectations
- Develop and implement a client development and community outreach strategy
- Set talent strategy including sourcing, recruiting and retaining high performing team members
- Coach, educate and train staff to build skills and capabilities
- Maintain productivity through inventory management and shrink control
- Champion use of technology and new selling techniques to drive results
- Ensure sales floor and store standards exceed expectations at all times
Requirements
- College degree or equivalent a plus
- Retail management experience in a complex, high volume or high profile specialty environment preferred
- Proven track record of building and maintaining positive working relationships with customers and staff
- Strong business acumen and planning and prioritization skills
- Ability to operate register and perform physical tasks including standing and lifting up to 30 lbs
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends and occasional travel
- Effective communication skills with customers and store personnel
