The General Manager leads store operations to drive sales and profitability while delivering an exceptional customer experience. This role focuses on talent development, executing company initiatives, maintaining brand standards, and optimizing productivity in a high-volume retail environment.
Responsibilities
- Own sales and profit performance to meet sales and margin goals
- Strategically plan and execute company initiatives at the store level
- Create and maintain a consistent customer experience aligned to brand expectations
- Develop and implement client development and community outreach strategies
- Recruit retain and develop high performing store talent through coaching and feedback
- Train team to build skills and enhance capabilities
- Manage inventory processes and store shrink goals to maintain productivity
- Champion use of technology and new selling techniques to drive results
- Ensure sales floor and store standards exceed expectations
Requirements
- College degree or equivalent a plus
- Retail management or similar industry experience in a complex high-volume specialty environment preferred
- Proven track record building and maintaining positive relationships with customers and teams
- Strong business acumen planning and prioritization skills
- Ability to operate register stand walk and perform physical tasks including lifting up to 30 lbs
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including days evenings weekends and possible overnight travel
- Effective communication skills with customers and store personnel
