Loss Prevention Investigator

Summary

The Investigator protects company assets from fraud and internal and external loss by monitoring store activity, conducting investigations, and supporting inventory and compliance programs. The role involves CCTV monitoring, apprehension of shoplifters, testimony in legal proceedings, and collaboration with operations and sales teams to minimize loss.

Responsibilities

• Routinely walk the sales floor to observe and identify dishonest persons both external and internal
• Monitor and dispatch using the CCTV system
• Apprehend shoplifters and maintain records of apprehensions
• Testify at criminal proceedings as required
• Conduct periodic POS audits and internal investigations with confidentiality
• Analyze transactional reporting and follow up to minimize loss from errors
• Support inventory counts, shortage programs, and management of unsaleables
• Respond to emergencies and complete follow up reporting
• Ensure compliance with privacy, cyber security, and health and safety policies

Requirements

• College degree
• 2 years experience in a similar capacity
• Interviewing or interrogation training such as kinesic techniques
• Previous retail experience
• Standard first aid and CPR OPA Level II
• Maintain provincial guard license
• Fully bilingual in French and English
