Summary
The Facilities Maintenance Technician I assists in delivering a safe and well maintained store environment by performing preventive maintenance, basic repairs, inspections, and supporting multiple store locations under close supervision. The role requires basic knowledge in several trade skills and the ability to respond to maintenance requests and emergencies.
Responsibilities
- Perform day to day preventive maintenance and respond to on demand requests from the sales floor
- Complete maintenance records accurately and timely
- Conduct daily inspections and building rounds
- Assist with troubleshooting and basic repairs of plumbing, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, shop equipment, and HVAC
- Maintain lighting systems including fixtures and bulb replacement
- Use electrical schematics and blueprints to observe troubleshooting procedures
- Perform manual labor tasks such as loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials
- Follow safety procedures including LOTO, PPE, working at heights, and machine guarding
- Escalate emergency situations and summon additional assistance as needed
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 1 year of related experience or training
- Basic working knowledge in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating, and cooling
- Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions and interpret circuit diagrams and schematics
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Flexible schedule including days evenings weekends and off hours support as required
- Proficiency with PC or laptop for work order system email and basic Microsoft Office
- Entry level proficiency with power tools and willingness to learn
- Ability to lift and carry heavy loads of 50 lbs or more
